Ha ha ha.....When I got into the truck yesterday after the violent slam pulling into my workplace, I put it in R and nothing happens. I go down to D and it starts to move, so I'm happy as hell I can now at least get home.
I put it in N and push it out of the parking space(funny as hell flintstoning that damn thing). On the way home it goes from 1st to 3rd with no converter lockup. Truck is a little loud going down the road about 40-50mph at 2600 with the cutouts open. Guess it was the tranny after all, eh?

Your band is probably toast too, but it's gotta be something more if you don't have R either. When my band went out I still had R, 1, and 3. I'm glad Ididnt have to Flinstone it like you

 

i agree, the sunshell is either broken or stripped. this is a fairly easy fix and you can have yourself back on the road the same day if you do it yourself.

I don't need anything but 1st and 3rd to drag that little ss you have down the road anyways.

To loose Reverse, 2nd & 4th is going to be a mechanical issue, either Sunshell or reaction carrier.
