Take it out. I had the chance to remove them when I was installing the caltracs and now I have to do it again. My truck was level and after the caltrac install it sits an inch or so higher in the back. I bet removing the overload will fix that.

if the caltracs will lift it then i would remove it, most people i have heard from lost an inch or so by removing the overload

I removed mine to level the truck and to try and get a little better squat in the rear on launch. It did both of those things but resulted in pretty severe axle wrap and wheel hop. If you have removed overloads with cal-tracs I'm guessing you will be in good shape... I'm ordering a set as soon as I get this turbo kit in line and start going to the track a little more regularly.

How much weight will you need to carry with the truck? If you pull the overload it will reduce the spring rate in the rear, I'm not sure if that's best for traction. You would ideally want to have much less rebound damping in the front shocks to help with weight transfer. I don't have any good info if it helps or hurts traction.

i removed mine because calvert recomends mono leaf springs for their kit on cars and removing the overload was just a small step in that direction.

If your going max effort for traction remove it , with Caltracs you only need enough spring to support the vehicle. On mine I have the wimpy D100 springs with only 4 of the leafs with the overload removed. So far its gone 1.32 60 on drag radials.
