Default Who wants to see some broken tranny parts?

Finally got the truck back today, along with the box of broken parts I got from the original tranny failure.

Broken rear planetary set

Rear sun gear is missing a tooth

Cracked parking gear

This goes inside the parking gear, all of the teeth were shaved down when the parking gear split and opened up a little bit.

The rest of the above part ended up here.

Cool stuff eh? Funny thing is all of the soft parts were in great shape considering I had 75,000 hard miles on the tranny.

So far so good, only put about 40 miles since I picked it up, but it feels much better all around. All of the shifts are nice and firm, and 1st gear doesn't feel like it's dragging anymore.

I don't want to, everyone has told me that break-in is not needed, but if I don't follow his instructions my warranty is void

850 miles on the tranny now, no problems.
