I have an 03 ECSB with 5.3 and 3.73 gears. Tranny is starting to slip a lot under heavy throttle and I am in need of upgrading. I do not run this truck like I did before it hit 150k miles so I am not looking for an all out race tranny. I just want to get an idea of who has used what builders and what experience you have had with them on just a mild street/tow setup?

i used monster to build mine. i love it. i beat the crap out of my 60E and it has held up. but i only have about 5000 miles on it so far. now i have a "level 7" built by a local builder here in Modesto, CA in my escalade and i see no difference between the two. just dont buy one from Ebay. i got hosed and stuck on the highway 700 miles from home.

I went with a performabuilt lvl2 ... but I plan on beating on it a lot more than you do it sounds like... a PBlvl 1 or a Finish Line Transmissions lvl 3 would probably be a great investment.

 

Go on LS1tech and sift through the sponsors. There are many than build quality transmissions, for a decent price too.
