Just wonder what year 4L80E I can use on a 2001 up 6.0? Also can you make a 4wd tranny work on a 2wd?

Use a 99 & up 4L80E,the bellhousing and the wiring will work with your 01 truck. You'll neen an adaptor harness for the main plug and a serial cable for the input speed sensor. Then have someone flash your PCM with the proper tuning for a 4L80E.

Do you know if the only difference in a 4wd tranny and a 2wd is the transfer case? The tranny I am looking at came out of a 03 and does not have a tail shaft on it nor a transfer case but it came out of a 4wd. Just wondering if it will work or not.
