You came to the right place, few things PT has is a ton of info (search feature sucks but be patient with it), Great helpful people and quite a bit of feed back on combo results.

Sorry sweet is not a good thing, the 4L60E is not the best tranny to be drag racing with.

Do a LQ4 and a 4L80E swap and you will notice the differance.

Are you trying to go FI or NA?

you can build a 60e for what he will be doing.. it'll handle him all motor, maybe not on the spray. I've been running a well built 60e and racing on it for 2 years now (knock on wood.. this is the only transmission that has lasted me with no problems)

that 80e is going to hurt his et's unless hes making some good power, sure it stout, but you'll be spraying that thing a lot sonner to get the times, lol.

that 4.8 will give you a 10 minute 1/4 mile, definately look at either lq4 or an lq9 swap

i plan on staying 4.8 till she blows . the tranny i know wont hold up on nitrous but we will see for how long i will only wanna run 13.5 n/a and then 100 shot on top if needed. ill upgrade to the 6.0 some day but for now i am working with what i got till later next year

lol ok...

$700 converter, 300 cam, 100 valve springs, 125 4.10 gears,500 tune, misc bolt ons, drs...=low 13 sec pass and probably a high 12 once everything is perfect...

so no, not 10 minutes.

however, i wont lie, i have the ls1 sitting in my garage, waiting on standby, lol
