Default What size tires on a 20x8.5" rim with a 4/6 drop????

I am about to order a mcgaughys 4/6 drop for my truck and i already bought a set of 20x8.5" rims. I have been trying to figure out a good size tire to run with the 4/6. I love the look of the wider tires in the rear so what is the biggest size i can run for the rears but still be a safe fit on my 8.5" rim?? What size should i run in the front? Would it be better to have all the same size all the way around? I like the rubber band look but i still would like a little bit of rubber there to protect the rim. I just wanna know what sizes would look best with the 4/6 and 20's??? Let me know guys!! Your help will be appreciated greatly!! Thanks! :worship:

Oh, i found a set of BFG G-force KDW with (2) 295/30/20's and (2) 255/35/20's that still have the little nipples on them for 600 bucks. Would the 295's fit on my 8.5" rim without causing me any problems?

I am running 275/35/20s on my centerline rims, 20x8. They look good and still have some sidewall to them. I think a 295 may be a little big for a 8.5" rim, but I am no expert. That does sound like a deal though.

The 295 tires will not fit - you would need a 10" wheel for that specific tire.

What is the backspacing on your wheels, you didn't mention it and is needed for proper tire size fitment.

Snakeoiler: Im not sure on the backspacing. They are 20x8.5" Kaotic Z6's. I just tryed to look up the backspacing on them but couldnt find a site that listed it. Would anyone know the backspacing on these wheels?

02bluestepside: Sweet! I am going to go with at least a 275/35/20 for my rear tires now that i know they fit easily on your 8" rim. I may even be able to get a 285 on my rims with that extra .5".

Thanks for the replys so far guys!!! Keep em coming!!!!

I just looked up some tires on tire rack and i like the BFG G-force KDW's!! The tread is bad ***!!

They have a size 265/35/20 that i think i may go with. I think the 265's will be safe on an 8.5" rim since the 255's are straight up and down on the 8.5" rim.

check you wheels, they should be stamped with the size and offset. Offset would be just as good as backspace.

I'm running 265/50/20 KDWs on my 8.5" in front.

I just checked and the only its not listed on the wheels. It has the size and width, made in U.S.A., serial numbers and max. load 2100 lbs. I have no clue what the back spacing is.... I guess i will have to call and find out from discount or something. Thats weird that its not listed. They are name brand wheels so i dont see why it wouldnt be on there.
