Default What size drop before having to c-notch

Have a friend that's wanting to lower his silvy and wanted to know how low he can go before he has to c-notch. He wants it low but doesn't want to take away bed space.

Depends on what year the truck is, and if it's a 4x4 on the GMT800 trucks.

Mine is '01 2WD with a 4" drop (2" shackles, 2" hangars) and it bottoms out on speed bumps or other big bumps, but is fine 99% of the time. You do not want to go lower than 4" without a c-notch.

So like a 3/5 would need a c-notch? Anyone have pics of the actual c-notch aswell?

3/5 here no notch.

DJM bump stops used in stead of stockers... yeah, bottoms out easily but doesn't ride on them.

So guess it just depends on the manufacturer of the kit then?

I'm also on a 3/5. I would c-notch it but it's not absolutely necessary. I haven't done it yet, but its on my list of things to buy.
