Default What rearend do I have?

Hey guys, I've gotta '00 Silverado ECSB 5.3L Z71... I'm looking to buy a diff. for it, but I don't have a clue on what rearend I have. This is my first Chevy I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions..

Look in the glovebox at the RPO codes...GU6 is 3.42, GT4 is 3.73, and GT5 is 4.10. Your truck will be one of those 3, most likely 3.73s.

If you go to buy a new differential be sure you specify the year model. 99+ have a different carrier brg. They are often refered to as an 8.6 instead of 8.5 for this reason.
