Default Adding gears to 10 Bolt w/ 205,xxx miles

As the title states. I am getting 4.30 gears/trutrac installed in my 205,xxx mile 10 bolt. What else needs to be replaced? This is assuming no obvious damage is present. Just wanting to freshen it up so i'll be good to go. Truck should be around 500-600 rwhp. I've NEVER worked on a rearend so.....

I'd just assume you are changing the bearings on the diff itself, so thats good.

Pull the axles and check for wear and inspect the beraings in the axle tube, if all in good condition, slap the new diff in, slide the axles back in and button it up. Take her for a spin and enjoy the fun.

I would atleast do new axle seals at minimum with that kind of milage.

Check the wear on the bearings and axles.

I'd put new carrier bearings in since you will already have the carrier out for the gear change.

He'll need to do carrier bearings by default as the Trutracs use a different bearing. Bearing # LM603049 and race LM603012 are required.

I just did the Trutrac in my 05 with 150k and only did carrier bearings. But I didn't do gears. The axle seals did not seep so I didn't touch them. Since you're doing a gear change you'll need to replace the pinion bearing anyways, so I would do everything. That way you can use a grinding stone on the original pinion bearing and use it as a setup bearing to get your pinion depth on point. After you do gears, pinion bearing, pinion seal, diff, carrier bearings the only thing left to do is the axle bearings and seals. Might as well get a master rebuild kit which should come with everything including gear marking compound and shims.
