I have an 01 Z and the G80 is fixing to take a and I remeber a few months back there was a thread about the locker/limited slip that everyone was recommending but I cant find it in the search. If anyone has had good experience with a locker let me know. I want something that has good street manners so a full on locker like a detroit wouldnt really fit the bill.

Me and nightmare both have the detiot true trac locker, mine has 3.73 and his 4.10 they have both handled the beating's that we have thrown at them pretty well. mine have prolly 20 passes and some huge *** burnouts and still no problems

I got the 19559-1 (or 19559-010) Eaton LSD. Good durability, rebuildable, lots of happy people out there running them.

 

Does this unit require the "special bearings" that are listed at the Eaton web site?

 

I beleive those bearings... are used on 99 and previous applications... at least thats what it said on some literature i got with my Eaton LSD.

Thats right. Only the 98-earlier use the special bearing. The 99-later use the stock bearing size. Eatons are great units.
