I'm wondering if that will be enough. Who was it, someone on here with a Denali truck (I think) has gone through 2 built 4L65...

I'm wondering the possibility of putting in an 80. Cost, feasability, parts, etc... Supposedly the 80's are good to about 700 crank Torque. Converting my 525TQ at all wheels puts me over that mark. I've heard the 80 is better for handling power than a built 65, but I'm no expert. I'd love to know more.

i dont think an 80e will work with AWD.

i dont even know what i'm going to do when my trans blows. 65E or 80E?

That was the consenus last time it was discussed. The '80 will handle more power, but also has more drivetrain loss. The gearing isnt near as good as the '65. If I beat on my truck like many here, I would go for the '80, but Chuck was confident last time I spoke with him that the '65 would be fine for me. Hell, Ive never even been to the track I dont think Ive ever stalled my truck up for a launch Im a sissy

I keep blowing my 60e and i was wondering which would work better for my truck. I have 380 rwhp and rwtq and plan on doing a few more mods to get it to 400 NA. I doubt i am going to take it to the track anymore so would a 65e be a better choice? And does it just plug directyl in or do i have to reprogram it? thanx

Lance pretty much got screwed by 2 different shops with his "built" 65's (he took apart the last one and found out Century hadn't even used 5 pinion planets) - he has a JAG 80e now and I believe hes very happy with it.

I have a JAG Performance 65e and it has held up to Hoosiers at the track with no problem, and I'm told will hold up to 500rwhp when the time comes

I asked about this at a trany shop in baytown, he told me that he could turn my 60e in to a 65e and with a few after market parts it would handle 700 hp with no problem.
the parts would be the most expensive, a sun shell called the beast, a harden shaft, and some type of clutch pack with servos, take out, rebuild, and install would cost about 2000

I really wonder about this statement (and statements like it from other sources) associated with a 4L60/65E. I wonder how much Berserker was making just before his Level 5 65E bit the big one? Isn't Chuck/FLP are about as experienced as you can get with building these trannies?
