Default what to do with Yank converter after tranny takes a crap?

I posted a while back about my output shaft grenading into the rest of the tranny. I was going to rebuild myself but it's been so long I just want to get it over with. I am getting married next saturday so all my money has been diverted away from my truck to the wedding (i think a smart move on my part )

anyway, I have a Yank 3200. there was metal in the pan and pretty much everywhere esle. Can I just flush it out, or should I send it in for them to inspect?

Also, this may be stupid question, but does anyone know if they take their own converters in for trade? I may want to upgrade.

After my wedding I will be purchasing a level 5 from FLT.

Congrats! Your $ will continue to be diverted away after too.

I would send to Yank to be safe, IMO. Shippin a convertor is why cheaper than a "dirty" convertor & a new L5. I'd call Dave for answer on trade.

Anytime tranny or convertor frags, I'd send off, but I don't like to take chances like some might. Esp. on a nice, built tranny.

BTW, FLT rocks! I get mine by next weekend.

Congrats on the FLT Level5, sorry to hear about the upcoming marriage J/K

Not sure if Yank takes trade-ins, but I'm pretty sure that they can re-stall your current converter. You'll definitely want the converter opened up and flushed out, you can have that done locally, but since you're looking for an upgrade, may as well send it straight to them.

If you're looking for a completely different converter all together, you could always sell your converter in the classifieds and buy your new Yank. If you do decide to sell it, make sure that you either A) let it be known that it came out of a blown trans and is full of shrapnel, or B) have it opened up and flushed locally so that you're not selling someone a converter that they're going to install that will take out their trans

Thanks guys.

my budget will be tight. I dont have much money but I know the value of quality products, so I'll get it done right the first time.

I'll email or call them this week to see what they say, but it at least sounds like a good idea to send it to them. its their product, I'd rather pay the shipping cost than drop it off anywhere around here.

That's what I meant to say, I knew what I meant.
While it's being upgraded, inspect / flush at same time. 2 tries & I'll get it right.
