Default Wanting Gears but is that all I need?

So you guys have helped me decide on a CAM (216/218 112LSA) LS6 Springs and LS2 timing chain and harden push rods and even who to use to tuned my truck.

After my tune I was told that gears would really change how my truck felt so that is what I am after. After reading on here and other sites to get some info I'm leaning towards 4.11 gears over 3.73 maybe getting 3.9 to be in the middle. No I don't tow and I drive 30 miles one way to work in heavy ish traffic. Do I care about gas? No I bought a truck but $$ saved can be into more mods.

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic Work Truck my current gears are 3.23 I think, something extremely high the tuner was shocked. I have 127,000 miles. My question finally is what else do I need to purchase besides the gear and pinon? and what should I "might as well replace" while I'm doing the gears?

Is it a 2wd truck?

I would go 4.10 without a doubt unless you run tiny tires. Your tuner is right, coming from a 3.23 ratio it will make a huge difference going to 4.10. Don't be scared of a decrease in gas mileage as I doubt you even see one. My Denali came with 4.10 from the factory with the 4 speed trans in 2005.

I would put in a trutrac while you're at it. Much stronger than the factory g80 locker (which you may not have anyway). I would also add a girdle like the TA performance cover. They add strength to the 10 bolt axle by keeping parts in the right place under load.

Yes it is a 2wd truck. What does a TruTrac do? I know the G80 if I have it locks so that the rear tires spin together. What I am confused about is is that a good thing to have or not I hear mixed views.

The trutrac does the same thing its just a much stronger and more dependable unit.

Yes thats a good thing. It will help traction a lot.

After the gears I would be looking for a looser converter. 3200 or so should do the trick for that cam. Looser would help more, but I hate driving loose converters every day.

The contents are described on the website. A master kit includes bearings I think.

If your tuner was shocked that means he hasn't tuned much.

It was Ellis at Speed Secrets in Monroe, WA Like I said earlier though I think it was 3.23 it might be even lower and he said it was the lowest he has seen in a truck. He built his own 8 sec Camaro so I think he tunes enough.

My 2010 Z71 4x4 has 3.08 for some damn reason LOL. I have a whole 3.73 front diff to swap in. Just need a 3.73 kit and someone who knows how to rebuild the rear.
