Hi, I was recently looking into purchasing a 2009 Sierra 1500 with the 5.3. The dealership has told me that the vehicle was ex military however when you depress the throttle the vehicle only moves as if it is idling. There is no take up at all.

I'm thinking this might be a throttle by wire issue otherwise does anyone know if the military makes vehicles with reduced throttle input

If the vehicle doesnt move when you step on the gas that a problem for sure lol. It could be the pedal assembly, the throttle body or even something else. A scan tool could watch things as you press down the pedal to see what the sensor are saying.

 

What about tranny issues? Could his transmission be going out or be out? I feel like I've had this issue before with a previous vehicle but can't remember. GL keep us posted
