I took this video a few weeks ago. It's not exactly normal driving, but its not WOT or hauling *** either. Just a decent accerlation video

Another advantage to the CircleD I see is that he can stall it up to 3500 whereas I've read on here the Vig can only go up to 3000.
I don't want to post a non-vendor link, but from what I can tell from PI's website, they are a true 10.5" TC...and they claim they can stall that size TC anywhere from 2400-6000.....

a precision industries 10.5" converter is exactly 10.5" and can only be stalled to 3000 rpm max. from there they offer their 9.5" converter that will stall from 3200 to XXXX

That's why I was confused since their website does indeed say the 10.5 can be stalled 2400 to 6000.

Once I get my truck up and running again I'll have more time to call PI and talk to them and see what they have to say.

I had a PI Vig triple disk 9.5" 2800 on my 01 Tahoe and I towed 5,000lbs somewhat regularly. Much more fun to drive than the stock converter and never had any issues towing over 15,000 miles.

Thats why alot with boost and or nitrous run the triple disk,so they can lock the converter safely
That is my ONLY reason. I really do not care about locking for gas mileage anymore.

That is my understanding as well.

Man, posts like this just mess everything up!

There's one camp saying go no smaller than 10.5 and then there are several in here running 9.5 with no problems whatsoever. hmmmm...

With what you want out of your truck, I'd go with the 10.5" 3000 stall. For performance though I'd go with the 3200 9.5". If 12's are your goal with a stock cam you'll need the 9.5", better heads, and more compression.

Well I hauled a full bed full of cement bags (suspension was on the bump stops) all the way home (10-15 miles) with my high stall 9.5" and had no problems and it never even got hot.
