Plenty of guys do but its not the preffered method. If your making much power it may be time for a custom driveshaft anyways, and then you just swap them all over to 1350s.

Do you know what size by chance? The 80 yoke is 1350 isn't it?

80 yoke should be a 1350 and your factory was probably a 3R but you need to verify.
