How many of you all are running a 9.5" converter with your turbo builds?
Deciding on a converter for a turbo 4.8 and its a bit of a conundrum. I know it will make decent power once its lit, but I dont want a large diamater heavy converter to kill it for street driving. My concern with a 9.5" is that it would ne inefficient as all hell once boost does kick in.

i have a 10.5 and its way too tight for a 4.8. granted, i have twin 66s but even after swapping in a 5.3 short block its just a waste of first gear trying to light off the turbos. once they get going though...hold on

10.5 is a large converter. Thats a 265mm. I have had both 258 and 265mm in my Denali and the 265 drives like stock, while the 258 was looser and more playful. Both were built to be "tight". With the maggie the 265 felt MUCH stronger on the street, but with a turbo I would think its miserable.

How is the holding power of the TCC affected with converter size? I would assume a larger converter would hold better than a smaller one just due to the added friction surface and distance from center (plain physics, moment etc.)
