ok so i called the detroit guy back. he said the tru trac powers both wheels 50/50 from a dig or when its going straight, when it senses torque. if say you launch and a tire looses traction, like if it hit a water spot, it will transfer up to 75% of that tires torque to the other wheel. sounds like a winner to me. and cheaper to boot. lol

I have been running the tru track for about two and a half years it is hammered on on a daily bassis never had any trouble with it it always locks up when you get on it and does not have the barking tires when turning like a full locker in my opinoin this is the best bang for the buck.

a TRUE locker is always locked. which makes turning around on pavement a bitch because both tires are trying to spin at the same speed and it can push you straight.
If you turn with a lot of throttle the trutrac will lock but if your not in it hard there's less torque coming into it and it stays unlocked so the wheels spin at there own speed when you need it to.

You won't be disappointed. My truck us almost to the 140k mark and I'm locking up nicely.

Better double check and make sure that they make a trutrac for the 14 bolt...my buddy had a problem with the G80 in his 2500, so I recommended that he get a Trutrac. He went to the local speed shop that he uses, and they told him that it wasn't available for his rear. He ended up getting an Eaton LSD instead...

I'm in a similar boat with my G80 which at this point seems to be completely dead. So does anyone know what size rear end my 03 1500 has? I found these at Jegs. Now I have to figure out which one I need: http://www.jegs.com/p/Detroit-Locker...32953/10002/-1
Also if anyone knows of a cheaper online retailer then please let me know.

you have an 8.6" (really an 8.5" ring gear but with different bearings hence the slightly different number...) 10-bolt with 30-spline axles. Jegs PN: 357-913A481 is what you need.
