Did your backlash tighten up when you added the carrier shims? I ask because backlash on the factory 8.6 is 3-6 thou. Congrats on tackling this yourself.

It should have stayed the same, I added the same amount to each side. I read thru your write up and thought u set yours to .007 so that's where I put mine. Lol

This was my first time and had no idea what I was doing

When you installed the plug/spacer between the axles did you make sure it fit in tight?

It was a nice snug fit, I didn't check it with a feeler gauge or anything, but there wasn't any movement. Is there problems with it being to loose?

Where the hell was everyone at when I was installing this thing haha

Awesome. The gears I set up in that write-up were after marked and called for 6-10 thou. backlash. That is why I aimed for 7.

Don't worry, the slug is supposed to be a snug fit.
