Its a dependable locker that will spin both tires when its supposed to and wont break easily.

The stock g80 does its job well at low speeds, but at higher speeds(~25+) if you lose traction it will spin one tire really fast.

It doesn't make your truck any faster, it's a structural integrity upgrade. The G80 doesn't seem to hold up well to power. The tru trac also has no clutches so so there's nothing to wear out.

913a481 is the part number. Expect to pay about $400. Most people have them installed although I've heard it's not terribly hard. I bought a full rear end so I never came to making that decision, I just had to R&R full rearends.

i got a ques, does the trutrac lock up going around turns under power like a lsd. as an example drifting, i do like to get my truck sideways sometimes and i absolutely hate the unreliable feeling of not knowing if the g80 is gonna lock up this time or not, i about wrecked the other day when rear end swung around unexpected out of nowhere when i wasnt even really in the throttle hard.. not asking if it locks under normal driving going around turns because it shouldnt, just reliable under load around turns in all conditions etc..?

It will lock always when you break traction, or this has been my experience. Wet roads demand very limited throttle inputs in my ride.
