No, my tranny temps don't get higher than like 130-140.

i did it last year and used the cheap dollar paint from wal mart cause thats all i had.. i just painted it enough to be black..i think a couple light coats. i didnt want to cover it so much that it would defeat the purpose of it.

Can be had on ebay pretty reasonably priced. works damn good.

When the truck is fully warmed before leaving the trans is still around 55°F.
cruising it took mine about 45 minutes of highway with a few short bursts to get to 130°.
And I agree with the above. If you paint it, only use 1 coat, too much paint will decrease it's ability to cool. If you look at your condenser you'll see that it has 1 light coat of paint on it from the factory,

My trans temps got up to 190 today just crusing around town normally, and thats with the stock cooler....hmm....

I'd get a cooler asap....

I couldn't get my tranny that high even if I wanted to, even with the conveter unlocked for 30 minutes straight on a 110 degree day

Yea. mine would be 200 with the stall. With the tru-cool it feels better and locks better.
