I have an 04 ss with the wimpy stock cooler, I plan on cold weather towing and I drive in all 4 seasons here in Wisconsin. I haven't hooked up my efi live to watch it yet but it appears the trans temps get so hot when towing that the shift pattern goes into hot mode and it gets terrible mileage constantly downshifting at highway speed.
Wondering if I need to worry about running the Tru cool thermal bypass, all I would be doing is replacing the stock cooler with a larger one, trans fluid still gets heated by the radiator coil. Can anyone tell me if the way it comes stock has the radiator coil before or after the front cooler in the circuit? Wondering if it cools the fluid and then warms it if necessary or vice versa.

Anyone that has used factory lines before, how is the driver's-side line moved? I see how the compression fitting was used on the passenger's-side, but the movement on the driver's side remains a mystery. I have seen a few other installs where multiple compression fittings were used on the driver's-side as well.

bump for this guy's question. my computer wont let me see the pic. i have factory cooler already and looking to just plug and play. already have the 40k in the garage with the included hardware. wont else do i need to do a plug and play? do i need the EAD bracket kit? part #?
As you know The Passenger-Side uses the Compression Fitting.....on the Driver-side there is No mod needed to be done to it..........once the Compression fitting is installed on the Passenger-Side Trans. line....the 40k mounts right up with the Factory Trans. lines.....there's an (Plastic)E-Clip on the Underside that Holds the Factory Transmission-Lines in place, Remove that (Plastic)E-Clip it will Not Hurt Anything and Allows you to Slide the Driver-side-Transmission Line over some, to Mount it up to the 40k Cooler, after that the Rest of the Install is a Plug-n-Play.....

All, does this EAD kit work the same for the NNBS trucks?
If so, can someone send me a PM with info for purchase? I'd like to check into it in order to save some fab time on my install.

Well i just spent the last hour reading this whole thread, and no one has really mentioned anything about the trucks that didnt come with a stock cooler. So my question is if i tie my lines into the tru cool would i just plug off where they went into to rad, or go through both? I might have missed it.
