Default Thermal bypass

I have a 2011 Silverado 1500 5.3 and I am getting ready to install my tru cool. I live in Colorado where it does get cold, I got the thermal bypass but no one else is using them that I can see. Anyone have any experience using these on a newer model truck with the bypass in cold weather? I also got the install kit from Time2kill, but the only way to use the bypass is with rubber hose and I really didn’t want to do that either...any suggestions?

anyone have any slippage before trans comes up to temp?

thanks

The trucool bypass isn't really set to a good temp for our trucks. Just run your trans fluid thru the radiator like factory and you should be good to go as that will help bring the trans up to temp.

I’m here in Buffalo, NY and I just run through the radiator then to the cooler. No issues for several years now.

I have read the entire thread. One thing I did not see mentioned. Is there a process for bleeding the air from the system once cooler is installed? Or, is it just run it till warm. And, add to full again.

No need for anything special. Just start it up and top the fluid off.

Awesome, thanks. I've got all my parts and pieces together. At this point I'm just waiting for warm enough weather to throw it in.
