Trouble deciding on lowering
#1
I keep thinking about lowering my truck more because I overall think it will look better lowered. It is already lowered, it is supposed to be 2" springs in the front(were on when i bought it) but i dont know if it is actually 2". I have a 265/70/17(aprox 31.5 tall) tire on there right now and the front sits at 33.5/34 with my lean. What are your guys stock 2wd height and 2" drop height, I could really use a good measurement with tires that are close to the same size. I have searched and every person with a 2/4 drop has a smaller tire than me, about a 30" tire on average i would say
The rear is a little bit higher than the front and it has 2" lowering shackles on it. It is about 1" to 1.5" higher than the front. I could just level it out by getting hangers and puting shackles in the 1" position but I kind of want to go lower. But im afraid of going lower because i have wayyyyy to much tire on there. If i go lower, i want to add 2" spindles in the front and do 4" total in the rear. So any thoughts on what I should go with. I really would like to know if i dropped it another 2" in the front and 2" shackles in the rear, how bad would i rub with them massive tires??
Opinions please

I just purchased some 08 tahoe 17's for the winter. I have SS 20's in the summer on 275/45 tires. they would work much better for dropping but them im screwed when winter comes around

U live in MI, & u drive thru the winter? And you want to go lower than 2/4?!? Mine w/ a 2/4 on stock 16"s ( I believe 30.5" tire) isn't the best in the winter. I can barely pull out of our banked driveway when a few inches of snow is on ground. Even no snow & the front airdam is ~2-3" off ground. The frame drags when there's a bit more.
The measurement you speak of is to the bottom of fender( or wheelarch) ?
I know I have all these measurements written down @ home. If I come across them, would u like my specs? I was very particular about before & after specs, BTW.

If you can find those measurements, that would be awesome!

dang.... that ruins my idea of going lower with they 20's on there too cause i think they stick out too far a lot of drop. I just need to level it out, i think it will look good then.

Why not just run smaller tires? The 275/55/20s that probably came with it are ugly as can be. In my opinion they don't belong on a "performance truck." If I were you I'd run a 275/40/20. Those would look great and you could run up to a 5/8
