I am currently working i south florida and recently my trans started making noises about 2000 miles after 6.0 swap. So working on my truck is out of the question. My truck is a 99 ecsb 2wd 1500. The trans is making a fast clicking noise and quiets down a little when put into drive builder says it sounds like the pump. So I am preparing for the worst so I look up trans shops. Well I find one that has a professional looking website and make a call. Weird thing is he want sell me a 4l60 cause he says it wont bolt up correctly. He claims my truck has a 65e in it from the factory. I thought for sure regular half tons came with a 60 other than that the dude sounds like he knowss what he is talking about. Can the builder be trusted? And would a pump make that kind of noise?

 

Well the only difference in the two units is the the planetary gears themselves, which is internal. Not sure why he says it will not fit properly other than he may be wanting to sell what he has on the shelf rather than building your unit.

You might want to call him back in the morning and ask him to clarify it for you.

No he wanted to rebuild my transmission I cant figure out why he thinks the two have different cases but the internals are mostly the same he even admitted the rebuild kit said 60e/65e
