mine was under warranty when I had the shift kit and stall put in thank god because with only 34k the whole tranny had to be rebuilt 2nd was burned bad and in another 10k I would have lost it along with reverse. If its under warranty get a GM certified place to do the install. It save me around 1700

My 3-4 was alittle burned at 104K when my reaction shell and sun gear tore apart so I went back with the Blue Plate Specials. It seems to me that it may be a towing issue because of the tow/haul everyone thinks you can just leave it in OD all the time and it will be ok. I even had a freind of mine that works at a dealer tell me to leave it in od but I found out later not to and have been towing in Drive (3rd) ever since and that may be why my 3-4 was only a little burned or just starting at 104,000.Has 167,000 now and hope fully she's still going strong..Zed

Ok. I take the 10 times **** back. My buddy blew his tranny 2 more time in a week. The tranny shop is ****** him over in my opinion. He has a 2000 Silverado 4.8L and its soposed to have a 4L60E in it. Well the tranny shop put a TH400 in it. Well i dont think its working.

simple tell him to take it back and tell them to fix it or just dont pay for it because if it breaks two times in one week i guarantee i wouldnt pay for it again especially considering most shops offer some kind of warranty even be it like 30 days or like 3000 miles

He soposedly has a "life time warranty". He hasnt paid anymore money for it. He keeps fixing it for free. But its not right. In the past year he has put around 4000 miles on the truck. Its been in the tranny shop for 9 months out of the year. But wouldnt you think if your truck is soposed to have the 4L60E in it and your tranny guy puts a th400 in it and it keeps breaking, that something just isnt right? I would want my 60E back in it and fixed.
