I prefer to know that my trans will not blow up at any given moment. It's very well documented that it's not a matter of if it will blow, but rather when.

your transmission is not gonna blow up so to speak, just put better clutches, band, sprags in there and dont worry about it

65's are a touch stronger than 60's but both are going to go out eventually if you take out the TM. It's never if, its when. It's a matter of driving habit and HP.

of course it is just like everything else....nothing really is bullet proof, all good things have to come to an end.

i will be running stock 17's for a while.
with this said i would say reduce TM by 50%
and 100% only on tow/haul.
i drive it mostly on the highway.
not really harsh on street. just every now and then.
I am currently at 42k miles, i would like to hold it to 100 maybe.

i do not have much knowledge about transmissions, but how much would
be those parts to build it stronger? would the labor be expensive?

If your going to replace parts inside the transmission, you may as well just buy one thats built IMO.
You should be able to do fine with 50% and the HP your pushing.

I've been told over and over and over again.....keeping the tranny alive is all in the tuning...so make sure you get someone tuning your truck who knows what they are doing. We've got a couple great sponsors on this site.

yeah i wouldve already but my budget is low now.
in fact, think i should try the shift kit install myself?
or how much could labor be at a local shop? i have never
opened a transmission on my own, so my knowledge is minimal.

my tuning will be done by justin@blackbear performance.
i chose that tune over wheatley and nelson because he is
coming sometime in march, so i will get both dyno and street tune.
