Default which transgo shift kit?

i've used old standard b&m shift kits, where you drill, remove check ***** etc... in a t350. and in a 700 you drill, and modify the accumulator, and change springs. in the new 4L60e kit...... what does the transgo "sk" kit do? what about the "hd" which should i get?.. i plan on having a tb stall, 3.90 gears, with 30" tall tires on 20" wheels.

I have the HD kit and have yet to install it yet. Basically the Hd kit is a little more involved that the regular kit. Just to give you an idea, I am the type of person that will try something even if I dont really know how to do it and I have done all the work myself on my truck, but for some reason this damn shift kit is intimidating. It has a bunch of parts that are very critical for the tranny.

So in other words I dont know what else to tell you.

Get the more expensive TransGo, it comes with a lot of new valves, new springs, and some other goodies you might need. It also is the one that comes with the instructional video. The video is a defining characteristic of the kit.

i personally talked to the dude that makes these kits, and he told me that there is no performance diffrence from the HD kit to that of the regular kit. Yes i know it hard to believe but that is what he told me. he said that the HD kit is made for people who do trannys for a life and know how to install them. Here is this thread, we were kinda of talking about the same questions that you are asking. hope that it helps.
