Default Trans pan UPGRADE cheap - Check it

I found Dorman makes aftermarket +2 quart transmission pans WITH drain plugs for 4L60e's. Makes for easy draining and adds a couple extra quarts over the stock trans pan. Cheap alternative to the pricier cast aluminum pans and looks factory. Part# 265-811

Looks good, wonder how long it would last here in the salt though. I believe my factory pan is galvanized.

You would have to run the trans filter designed for a deep pan wouldnt you? Mine has a drain plug but the 2 extra quarts would help out.

Not necessarily, some pans have a Baffle type thing, that hold the filter up so it doesnt try to fall off the neck, thats what my aluminum hughes deep pan for the 80 has

I dont like the idea of having the plug like that either in the pan posted, altho it is a awesome price. It would make moving the trans around after removing kinda a PITA.

If you drained it first then left the plug off, that problem would go away I think.

lol, ive blown up 8 trannies and not once have I drained it first, its more mess and that isnt my problem, let the builder deal with it.

And obviously it would go away, but then u have a hole in the bottom of the trans, sliding it around on the floor

Its hard to tell from the pic, but is it 2+ quarts over a factory deep pan? Or 2+ quarts over a factory shallow pan?
