i bent the tailshaft and basically ruined the tranny sunday at the track. thats what the chevy dealer said. i put it in there because i thought it was the rearend and found out the tranny was fried. what should i go with next? I might get it fixed under warranty but im not for sure yet till about 2days. but i was thinkin a FLT stage 4 4l60E? you guys think that will hold my setup? and how the hell did the tailshaft bend? ive had the nos for a year and this has never been a problem. any help or explanation would be appreciated. thanks michael

Get a billet output shaft that costs basically as much as a low mile 4l80e LMFAO.
Look, the 4l60e is a fine transmission behind a 200 hp V6 as it was intended, but it's a joke behind a powerful v8 in a 4500-5500lb vehicle.

I would check your driveshaft angles, do you have any vibrations under acceleration or at highway speeds since you lowered it?

I say FLT level 5, you'll still have the good gearing and less parasitic loss than an 80E, and it should hold up behind your 5.3. The nitrous is a little concerning though...

never had any vibrations. and the 60e with the hd2 shift kit and 2nd sonnax servo and it did fine for a year with the nitrous and 2 years before that with just the motor. so i reckon the FLT level 4 or 5 would be ok. but i dont know? and idk what is actually broke the chevy dealer said the tailshaft was bent and or twisted and the whole tranny was junk. so idk
