Default trans is going

lost second gear on way home from work this morning so im assuming the rest is soon to follow. now i cant decide between the FLT lvl4 or performabuilt lvl2-pro race. im leaning towards the performabuilt with a circle-d 2600-2800 stall. truck has stock gearing which i assume is 3.23 and the mods in my sig.
looking for any other opinions or options. a set of 3.73s maybe the next mod

a friend mentioned something about possibly a solenoid going out? is this possible?
everything works fine except no second gear manually shifting or in D. no slippage either.

before i jump into a rebuilt trans anyone else have any input? seems more like a solenoid or something since every other gear is fine and it does not slip.

That sucks! either company makes a great trans. I had my eyes set on my PerformaBuilt LVL2 for a LONG time. I'm really impressed with it.

They both have a stout trans but Performabuilt stands behind their work. FLTs 6 month warranty kills the deal. Performabuilt has a 2 year unlimited mileage (with their converter) warranty. Sounds like a winner.
