Default Trans acts funny around 3700 RPMs and up?

The other day I was stuck behind a dump truck and I went to pass him, and I got into the gas pretty heavily and when the tach read around 3600-3800 RPMs the truck seemed to quit getting power to the ground. It almost completely quit pulling yet the motor was still turning over faster. The truck has about 115,500 miles or so on a stock 4L60E...with a vette servo. What do you think is most likely the problem? Thanks

When this happened did the rpms continue to climb but the speed stayed the same? Could be starting to slip. Vince
