Default trans acting up. Help!!

What up guys, yesterday was coming home from jax, doing about 75 on cruise when the toms surged from around 2000 to about 5000 toms and I hit the brakes. The truck slowed to around 50 and I tried to accelerate and it would not go into overdrive. After letting the truck sit while I worked, then drove it running it through the gears manually and all gears worked. This morning I took it to get it scanned bcuz it threw s code. The code was a bad sylinoid bad. Then on the way to work today it was in the limp home mode. Going to drop the pan hopefully tomorrow and try to assess the situation. And help would be great. This area is not my strong point. Thanks guys.

From what I can gather, I'm going to assume your TCC lockup solenoid has gone out, and you could probably do it yourself if it is only the solenoid, you will need to drop the pan and pull a retaining clip to get the solenoid out .

What codes did you get? If it was a PO751 or PO757 you will need to have the test for these codes turned off. This is something that must be done by a tunner or with the use of tunning software. Hope this helps Vince

I was thinking the same thing. Scan it for codes and post up. Could be a simple fix.

Your sig says 3XXX stall "on the way".

What torque converter is in your truck at this time?

Stock I'm waiting on that unfilled I can afford a built trans. Which it. Looks like I may need to be doing now. The truck has 148000 miles on it now so I knew something would happen sooner or later.

If you're good with troubleshooting, this should help you out.

Hopefully it's not too small for you to read.

The p0753 code is a fault code for the "electrical" side of the 1-2 shift solenoid, could be anything from high resistance in the solenoid coil to an open wire to the solenoid.

Also have seen this code set due to the mechanical side of the solenoid, even though it is not supposed to. Usually if this code is setting and not due to the electrical side it is a worn out 3-4 clutch.

148000 miles then spray on top of it, sounds like you are on your last leg anyways
