you could just buy one of these and not have to change anything or pull anything. it would also give you more info than just trans temp.

 

do u tow with the truck at all, and do u have a shift kit or a aftermerket tQ-converter?

 

Or you can buy a gauge cluster like I did.

chevy6000vho do u have the steering wheel controls to be able to view the gas milage or does it have a pin you can use. i dont have the steering wheel conrtol but would love to check my gas milage like they can!

 

The gauge Zippy is talking about is more than enough for what you want. It has 20 some od parameters and also records under certain conditions. 2 different items to watch what more do you want? If you change clusters you get one of those stickers for your truck that tells others you have modded it if you care.

 

I was never given a sticker for mine.
They just sent me the cluster.
