Take a look at this CHART
Stock, it had 3.73 gears and a 4L60-E. I now run 4.56:1 gears, a 4L80-E, and the GV Overdrive. It almost completely makes up the difference in range between the 60 and 80, and it gives you the closer ratios of having 5 speeds over nearly the same overall range the 60 only gives you 4 in. (You know that annoying RPM falloff in the 1-2 shift on the 60? Not so with an 80.) It is possible to split every gear with it but that's just a hassle. It's perfect for the highway. Just keep in mind that with a combination like this you are running power through FOUR planetary gear sets (five with 4WD) and two pumps. This doesn't come without at least some penalty in driveline power loss.

Ya, the GV are really tough units. Will handle a lot of torque. I used to install them in motor homes and truck alot when I worked at Camping World. But they aren't cheep $2800 for the GV plus gears front and back plus all the crap for an 80 conversion I'd be looking at close to 8K
That's a lot of coin!! I'd need to run about 20 psi of boost just to make up for it

Maybe it'll break again in a few months.
Maybe it'll break again in a few months. The gearing on the 80E does not feel that bad. But then again I might not feel it with the 3200 stall. I say if it breaks again then do the 80E. How long is the warranty I think you said a year right. If you do the 80E I will make a trip overthere and help you. You will never break that bitch again...provided they sell budwieser over there
