Default Traction issues options...

On my 4X4 Silverado NNBS with Radix 112, itīs very hard to make a decent 1/4 et because of tire spinning. Is it recommended by you drag strip gurus to take off in 4X4 ? I am afraid I am gonna break something. Thanks for the info...

I launched in 4x4 with no troubles, helps get my boat off the line. Pretty good in the 1/8, but slowed me down at the top of the track. Seems like it doesn't shift out of 4x4, I can feel it holding me back.

One run, I launched in 2 wheel drive from an idle, pedaled it to the 1/8, spinning all the way, then got traction finally. My mph was exactly the same, and my e/t was only .5 slower. I'm considering slicks and cal-tracs.

I'll watch this thread for more ideas.....

The 4wd will not release in WOT. You have to let off the throttle first.

Is something reading TPS at 100% and preventing the shift, or is it just drivetrain bindup? Would it unlock at 99% TPS? Or do you have to completely lift, then get back on it?

I am not totally sure, but I think it is a mechanical system, not computer controlled.

Idk on Chevy's, but on my Dads cummins he runs the whole 1/4 in 4WD. I'm sure someone will chime in, but I don't think it should slow you down. IIRC I think Trevert is 4WD?
4WD definitely isn't slowing him down any.

All but one of my passes were in 4x4. I've read that alot of guys are shifting out of 4x4 after the 1-2 shift. I tried that, and the switch lights go back to 2 wheel drive, but I can feel that the truck is still in 4x4, and it's slowing me down at the big end. Looking for info or a trick to get it to shift out.

Anybody??
