Hey man, check this traction bars out at longhorn fab. Custom Chevy/GMC 1500 (1/2 Ton) Traction Bars (2in Diameter) (200961) - Longhorn Fab Shop

I ran into them when looks for rocker switch cut outs. They have some pretty nice stuff.

72" would be way too damn long... Think that would be at or in front of my torsion bar mount....

Well you can enter in a custom size, but surely they did some measuring?

72" would actually cause it to bind during articulation, and it would serve to lift the front more in turn planting the rear, but when they would be about where the torsionbar bracket mounts it would be a bit ridiculous and putting the truck on a lift would be damn near impossible!!! If my truck were here at the moment id go measure it to see where they would fall exactly but i know the 52" bars roughly measure out to something like 1-2" in front of the back body mount on the cab.... Which is right about the same angle as my ds....

Actually now that I think about it the extended cab portion must be atleast a foot and a half longer then a single cab. So I guess 72 wouldnt be overly long. 2in is beefy to!

My driveshaft is something like 73" but being that the bars sit lower to begin with, i would think 72" would be too long, 52-56" would put the bar at about the same angle as my driveshaft, id just be afriad the 72" bars would limit travel and create bind in the suspension... Maybe im thinking it backwards or over thinking it, other side to that is a 72" bar that runs directly under the frame would make putting the truck on a lift damn near impossible without pulling the bars every time....

Oh I did not think of the lift problems glad mine is tucked above the frame and in the middle. I would really like to see 4WOR mag do a test of different types of traction bars and their pros and cons. Maybe I'll send an email or two and get lucky.

Yah, They are a little to long for my taste, and your right about the lift problem. They would still be a real nice set if you entered in your custom length.
