Default traction assist went out

anyone here has traction assist? i have an 01 ecsb sierra with the traction assist. i was driving today, only running 55-60 mph ona heavy rainy night, then all of a sudden the "traction off" sign light turned on. it usually turns off after the truck recovers after a few seconds, but it was on the whole time till i got home. turned off the engine for a few minutes then turned it back on, but the light was off. i drove it a few minutes and it never turned on again. has this ever happen to you guys? i also just got my 4/6 drop done. do guys think that would be the reason also?

I have traction assist also. I don't know what is causing your problem. Mine has 135k miles on it and no problems, suspension is also stock.

I don't think the computer can turn the traction control off. You have to do it manually by pushing the button and it resets to "on" whenever you start the truck again. Sounds more like a faulty switch. Maybe pull the button from the dash and see if its really dirty or loose etc...

Whenever I start to lose traction, the "low traction" light comes on and you can feel it cut the fuel until you gain traction again.

Same thing with mine. If yours is flashing "Traction Off" without pushing the button, something is wrong. You should feel the tires spin, the "Low Traction" light come on and the truck lose power. Then the light should go out and you get your power back. "Traction Off" should not show up.

same thing happens to me. i will feel the tires spin, the light turns on , then the light goes out to recover. having the "tracktion off" sign come up til i got home only happened once. hopefully it doesn't happen again. i'll let u guys know if it does. most likely i'll bring it to the dealership to get it fixed if it ever happens again.
