Default track tires 16" non slicks

whats a good tire to buy to strictly take to the track and launch a bunch of passes on. not to sticky like slicks casue i'll blow the trans lol not to stiff casue it'll jsut spin i'm looking for a good cheap intermediate tire for track only use 16" rim 29"-31" tall

thanks,
-Erik

you can look at some soft cooper cobras, or some other kind of soft touring tires, with a tread wear aroud 280 should be great for what you wanna do

I use Dunlop Dueler somethings 255/65/16's for the track. I am launching in AWD and still manage to turn them over a few times. I got them for the 29.1" tall aspect. 2wd, forget it

Maybe look into a set of Nittos. They're not too bad as far as hooking. They like ALOT of heat, so if you don't heat them or just spin them real quick to clean them off you'd probably be good.

i'm debating an X1 cam now for 250$ over the comp 222/224 which will be going in 2 weeks from now

track opened up this w/e so i'm gonna go next week tuesday for a baseline run then i can rip her apart

no trans yet still all stock i'm to poor to afford what i need in that dept mebbie the new cam will destroy it so i can have a good reason to replace it

I run Continental 4x4 Contacts. The're a touring tire. Size is 275/55/17, which is a short tire, 28.9. I air them down to around 25psi and they hook pretty good for street tires. The shorter size also brings my gear ratio up a little, since I only have 3.42's. I run them on Escalade wheels in the winter.

If Its Not Too Late, You Might Want To Look At The Toyo Proxies. They Are A Very Good Street Tire That Hooks Relatively Well At The Track
