more info on your setup will help. could be in the tune, could be a misfire, could be a bad part. any more details?

when the converter is locked its like being in gear with a manual transmission, engine and tranny sinning together. when its unlocked the engine is allowed to spin up and multiply your torque, via more engine rotations per tranny rotation.

say your crusin along at 50mph or so. give it a little throttle and your rpm stays the same. now give it a little brake pedal and a little gas at the same time, and you will notice your rps jump.

brakes make your TC unlock. i belive it only locks once you reach a certain speed and are using minimal throttle. stock tune and TC i belive the speed is 40mph, mine is set only to lock up at 45. my buddies formula only locks in forth gear no matter what the speed is.... i wish mine was that way.

and thats all i think i know about TC lock up

is it a stock converter? if not u may need a tune to get it to stay locked. the min tcc tables in the stock tune are almost nothing.

stock tune, now its not even locking. its hesitating pretty badly(no idea if this has any correlation)if you just cruise along slowly all it does is stumble.i put in first, then second , and ran it up slowly, the truck was just stumblin the whole time.if you floor it it taks off pretty fine but you can feel a hesitation.probably off topic. but like i said, its not even locking now.
