Default Towing with 4/6 drop

I plan on Lowering my 05 RCSB Sierra, however, not sure on how low? I really want to go 4/6, but will be towing a vette from time to time. So i would need to get Helper baggs! OR do I???

I've looked around for Helper Airbags and it seems that they all mount ontop of the leaf and top/side of frame. But with a flip kit in the rear, that puts the axle ontop of the leaf where the airbag would sit! SO, i'll have to relocate the position of the airbag placement. In theory, this doesn't seem all that difficult but when you modify the original design that the manufacture created, you normally run into a handleful of problems...

If anyone has any info, please chime in.

I tow like crazy with my 4/6. Usually 5000lbs of boat. I can say you will definitely need helpers. It's not bad, although after last weekend I would recommend getting rid of your stock GM synthetic gear lube

I have heard several bad stories about the stock GM synthetic gear lube, I have been told to use regular cheap 75-140 GL5 non synthetic lube.

I'll look into the Gear lube.

I only have about 1700 miles on my truck and it seems the Locking Diff. doesn't LOCK? Is there some break-in period or just a junk rear end? Did my first "little" burn-out and only one tire was spinning.

On that 4/6 drop. I'm leaning towards the DJM Control arms in front and Flip kit in the rear with Edelbrock Shocks. Sounds right to any of you guys. Those ball joints don't wear-out do they? Do those shocks have to be "drop shocks" or OEM length shocks? Guess i could always call DJM's tech line!!

i have the djm 4/6 and would go mcgaughy's if I did it all over again atleast for the front to correct ball joint and tie rod end angles. I have the 59103 airlift helper bag setup, but we had to weld the upper brackets in to get the proper clearance and placed the bags behind the axle instead of in front as the instructions say. I only run 10-15 psi while daily driving and rarely bottom out as this hb setup helps with ride assist. I have yet to tow with it yet or take large loads in the bed, but hope to soon...looking for a boat sometime in the near future.

i would definately go with the mcgaughy's kit. i would rather have some spindles up front springs than just control arms.

Your right you do have to get shorter shocks, I run the nitro-active shocks with my Groundforce kit..and I believe Belltech uses a similar shock as well.

I Have The Djm Kit You Are Looking At As Well . With Bell Tech Nitro Active Shocks. With The Back End Notched. Ride Pretty Good For A Dropped Truck. I Say Djm. Cheap, Easy To Install.
