Default Torque Converter Recommendations?

New 370 with MP122 & 4L80E...planning on 500rwhp at least. My original plan was for a 2600 stall, but have been reconsidering and thinking 2800 or even 3000. Its a daily driver during the week and all highway on wkends...and those stop sign dashes to squish BM's & Vette's
U guys have any specific names and stalls advice? Thnx R/

i would think that you would want to stay with the 2600 but thats just my opinion

with Radix you want to stay low. PI2400 triple disk will be nice.
Yank Also makes stall for supercharger. lower stall but will make big difference.
Radix gives Power throughout All RPM range. unlike turbo or N.A.
You dont need high stall.

I would thin that a 26-2800 would work great with that cam you have, esp with the 115 lsa.. Alot of the radix trucks keep the stall low cause the power is like now...

With the MP122 there is a slight lag in off idle power. Not much though. I think a 2600-2800 Vig triple disc will be great for you with the weight of the Avalanche. I run that converter with my MP112 and don't plan to swap when I upgrade to the MP122. A 3000+ stall is gonna be a waste of the power band you are getting with the roots type blower. You WILL be in boost by 2600rpm so a stall much higher than that is flashing right past the power the roots blower was designed to take adavantage of. Also, after 2600rpm, the flash from a higher stall converter is gonna cause you serious traction issues.

I've started logging transmission performance. My VIG 2600 is now stalling to 2900 with the additional power I'm making I assume. I'm considering pulling it out and having it restalled back down to 2600.

It's torque that moves these heavy pigs out of the hole. Why waste it.

thnx guys! Seems my original plans were the right ones and I'll stick with the 2600...I'll call magg and get their opinion as well.
One last question...can I have the TC configured so I won't need the new flex plate when I convert to the 4l80?

My understanding is that it will. If I'm forced to buy a cowl hood then so be it
