Default Torque Converter help!

I have a 91 Silverado with a new GM Goodwrench 350. I have been trying to get this truck fixed of several problems for 3 years. The latest dealer tried to fix it for 2 years and had the GM tech come up there supposely to fix the problems. He told him he didn't have enough experience with TBI and contacted older GM techs. They all told him it was normal and told my mechanic to run redundant grounds to the ecm and ck everything again. If nothing changed than the truck seems to be normal. They took it to the inspection station and gave me paperwork saying it passed so nothing could be wrong with the truck. I have burned up one cat already with only 6,000 miles on it. The exhaust has a strong odor and the mechanic said he doesn't smell anything even though several other people do. I have no idea what I can do about it so I guess I am going to drive it like it is. Oh yeah it got keyed while it was at the dealer this week and they decided they didn't want to work on it anymore so they told me it was all normal except for a torque converter problem which I know nothing about.
Problem 1
So I need some help on torque converter info. They say this vibration noise it is making when you run it until it warms up good is the torque converter drain back possibly?
Problem 2
Also when you drive the truck it takes off fine from the start but will not accelerate in the 35mph-up when cruising and needing to accelerate. You have to get down on it by pressing the pedal further and further down. The dealer says the torque converter is locking up too early pulling the engine rpms down during this time?
Problem 3
There is trans fluid leaking for 3 years and they say they think it is the torque converter seal leaking? I paid over 200.00 for labor and parts to have the gasket replaced and a vehicle speed sensor replaced because they said it was leaking there.

Will it hurt the engine or anything else to drive the truck with the torque converter doing this? Do you have to get a trans rebuild when you replace the torque converter? My truck has 175,00 miles and the trans shifts great with no problems.
Any help will be appreciated!!

So the truck has 175,XXX miles on it and all you ever had to do is replace the engine with a GM Crate engine and put on new cat's?

You do not have the get your trans rebuilt when you replace the TC.

Well, with that many miles on the stock tranny, and having torque converter problems I'd have the whole thing gone through. You don't want to replace a 175,XXX mile torque converter with a new one then find out your tranny needed rebuilt also! While you are there you might as well have the whole thing done at once.
