Torque Converter!?!?!?!
#22
Singel vs Multi, very good question. We sell a lot of converters to truck guys and it is a mix of single and multi. We do see some single come back with burnt clutches due to the tuner trying to lock it on the dyno or at the track, sometimes from towing. Very very rarely do we see our multi disk fail. So while there is no exact answer to this question, the multi adds durability even if you are not locking at WOT. Also depends on converter diameter, our 258mm has a bigger piston than the 245mm so it will have more apply area. And we very seldom see the 258mm single come back damaged even with light towing. So my suggestion is if you are getting a 245mm in a truck, get the multi. 258mm and 100% sure no WOT lock up and very light towing, single is ok.

I hated my triple disc because of how noisy it was people in the drive through or in parking lots had to think my **** was raggedy with all that clanking coming out from under it. I now have a single disk and am very happy with it. I was informed by Chris that the noise was a normal thing, but i didn't like it.

Triple disc for sure in that case. You need the extra holding power because the entire load is on the clutch and the fluid isn't carrying any load. I shredded a 2400RPM single disc converter towing a 21' trailer.

thats what i was thinking. the 5.3 didn't have the bottom end of the 6.0. i could see the 6.0 not being very nice to one towing the same 30ft camper up the same hill locked.
