Default Torque converter ???

Do the gen 3 motors use an ls1 style torque converter or do the torque converters out of the obs trucks work.

Thanks

The LS1 IS a GEN 3 engine.

You can install a GEn 3 4.8, 5.3, 5.7LS1, 6.0 engine into an OBS truck by using the following GM parts

If you want to install a GEn 3/4 engine in a 96-99 truck you can use the existing 4l60e by using this flexplate spacer

and 6 of these longer bolts

EDIT With this flexplate from a GEn 3/4 truck that used a 4l80e trans

The 4l60e's behind the GEN 3 engines use a different input shaft than the 4l60e's behind the GEN 1(TBI), GEN 1e(Vortec 350) and GEn 2(LT1) engines so theire TC's are different as well.
