Default torque converter

well since im on a budget right now and my cam is finally getting installed with the Valvetrain Upgrade Kit am i gonna run into problems running a mild size cam like a 224/224 cam without a torque converter forawhile ? i know its gonna be really lag a first...
btw its a 2005 silverado 5.3 with bolt ons

It won't hurt anything to run the factory converter for a while. Your lowend is just going to suck horribly.

I would look out for a Yank or PI (Vig) to throw in there.

a stock converter will run behind anything.... but you wont have the RPM's to get you moving at all out of the hole... you'll basically have a V-tech truck

so would running a cam like that with the stock convertor, would it affect part throttle driving?

absolutely... and your mileage would likely be terrible.... because you have to give a lot more thottle input to get it rolling on that stock converter.

ya its safe to run a stock converter wit a cam, for racing its just not ideal

im running a TR-224 wit a TT3000, eventually gonna stepup to a Vig like 3200 or so, ive heard the Vig makes a world of a diff
