I put my truck in the tranny shop to have a TCI streetfigther installed and the guy was trying to warn me that with that big of start the trans temp will run high is that true? I'm getting a cam and heads installed after it comes from the trans shop the cam is 212 218 .558 .558 on 114 he said he recommended something around 2200-2400 stall range is this true?

Thats not much higher than a Stock Stall...

a 2200-2400 is not a BIG stall. a 3400-4000 is a big stall. any bigger is race only. with any stall you need to add a transmission fluid cooler.

With a higher stall comes more heat. I have no idea what the streetfigher stalls to but either way an aftermarket trans. cooler would be a good idea. A torque converter stalled 2600-3000 rpm would be fine with your cam choice imo.

edit: damn I need to earn to type faster

that street fighter is rated at 3k. you will need a larger aftermarket tranny cooler.
3k with that cam set up should be perfect. that guy at the trans shop is thinking old school 3k stall when the car doesn't move untill then.

you could also look into a larger diameter converter which will hold more fluid, like 11 or 12 inch and a cooler, you would be golden.

the stall is 3k yeah he was telling me that usually you only see those in camero's and vettes he said you normally don't put them in trucks I was thinking to myself that there a hole lot of people who have them in there trucks... he said that the trucks are too heavy and that it'll run hot I have a aftermarket transcooler but he said I might need a bigger one well see after the test drive...
