Default Time for gears again. Which ones?

I currently have 3.42 and they are great on the street and spools turbo easily. I have another set of 3.42 and 3.23 available and I'm kinda thinking of trying the 3.23 to hook better on street. My street tires are 28.4" if it makes a difference. I can see truck going slower with 3.23s at the track but I think I'm going to stop trying to go faster already. Please post your opinion.

I wish I had that kind of power, I am going in the other direction for gears. I am actually considering 4.56, and I have 3.73 now. It is just too tall geared with the 20's, and I sort of want to keep the street tires on it.

What rpm are you going through the traps at? I really don't know if I would change to a taller gear for the street just because of traction. I would honestly detune it for street driving. Maybe mess with the tow/haul mode for street/strip. Im interested to see what route you go, and what the outcome is like.

Don't know. I run 12 psi on street and it traps 128 on this.

I can run 7 psi and hook but it feels slow. Plus on interstate on 80mph I turn 2600 and would like little better. Guess I've convinced myself to try them but wondering who uses them.

hey buddy,

i had 3.08's and 28" tall tire in FT before the new setup and loved it.
Still managed to go 141mph in the 1/4 with no traction (that was the small tires).
Got 33's and 3.55's now, so almost the same ratio.
I don't think you'll loose anything at the strip, but it sounds like you want them for the highway, go for it!

Looks like I'll be trying 3.23. Could always go back but will probably like them. Hello 120 in second gear. Lol

Gears are in and I like them. Way less tire spin and boost comes in about 200 rpm faster. Overall boost on the same spring also went up 2 psi. Hopefully track times won't suffer too much but Even if they do drivability is better so I'll keep them.
