As the title said im thinking about switching over to a synthetic gear lube in my Borg-Warner 4481-NR3 Transfer Case. WHY? Well since its a planetary gear style AWD case with Zero parts requiring friction/clutches and having my last case die on me cause a 35$ bushing wore out.
So whats the general consensous about me doing this? To be honest having ATF fluid as its only source of lube for a complex gear/chain system just seems too thin especially at higher temps.
Well i've said my piece and i'll let the rest of the boards fill in the space.
Thanks,
Mike

Well i probably shouldnt have said 75W90... but i was changing the fluid in the rear-end at the time i posted so it was on the brain lol.
I did end up changing what is the the T-Case but instead of 75w90 which even i know is way too thick for that. I ended up filling it with 50% ATF and 50% Lucas Synthetic Oil Stabilizer and im just gonna see how things run.
First Impressions after a few mile drive, its quieter thats for sure and got rid of a lot of the "drive to reverse" clunk. So im happy.
